One of our packages includes a tour to a landscape formation known as drumlins. The drumlins are largley composed of a glacial drift, formed beneath a glacier or ice sheet and aligned in the direction of ice flow.
The biggest drumlin is 145 m ( 477 ft) high, 2 km ( 1.2 mi) wide and 10 km (6 mi) long)-Laiuse drumlin. Estonia is the only country in eastern – Europe where such large drumlins can be seen! Drumlins also play an important role in Estonian folklore, specially in the epic of Kalevipoeg (The son of Kalev).
